At Health on Henley, we can provide iron infusions for patients with low iron levels, when this procedure is medically indicated.
What is involved with having an iron infusion?
To get an iron infusion at Health on Henley, you will need to:
- Book an initial consult with a GP or Nurse Practitioner to discuss your symptoms and concerns. You will be provided with a pathology form for a blood test.
- Complete a blood test to diagnose iron deficiency. You can complete your blood test with the onsite pathology service, Abbott Pathology.
- Book a follow up appointment with the GP or Nurse Practitioner to discuss your blood test results.
- If an iron infusion is indicated, you will need to book in for a 60 minute consult. This includes set up time, 15 minutes for the infusion itself and a 30 minute observation period.
- Complete a follow up blood test to check iron levels.
