Appointment Structure
Appointments at Health on Henley are planned in 15 minute blocks. This ensures that health professionals have enough time to respond to all of your health needs.
All initial consults for new patients are booked for 30 minutes to enable our team to get to know you and your health.
If you have numerous or complex health issues to address, or require a procedure, you will need to book a longer appointment.
Our appointment structure includes:
- Standard consults (15 minutes) – 1 health concern
- Long consults (30 minutes) – 2 health concerns or 1 complex health concern
- Prolonged (45 minutes) – 3 health concerns or 1 very complex health concern
- One hour (60 minutes) – 4 or more health concerns or 2 very complex health concerns
Appointments for some healthcare needs, such as vaccinations or chronic disease care plans, will require you to see both the GP and the nurse on the same day.
Appointments can be booked online through HotDoc, or by calling the practice on (08) 7118 7782
Appointments for results, prescriptions, imaging, referrals and similar matters.
At Health on Henley, we require you to book an appointment for the matters listed below:
- Pathology results (i.e. blood, urine tests)
- Repeat prescriptions
- Requests for imaging (i.e. x-ray, MRI, ultrasound)
- Referrals to medical specialists or allied health
- ”Quick questions” about your health or medical condition
Why do we require appointments for these services?
Your health deserves more than a quick transaction. Each of these matters—whether it’s discussing your pathology results, reviewing your medications, or arranging specialist care—requires thoughtful consideration and your practitioner’s full attention.
During your appointment, your practitioner can:
- Explain your results in context and answer your questions
- Request further pathology or imaging if the initial tests were not conclusive
- Review whether your current medications are still appropriate for you
- Ensure the right imaging or referral is requested based on your current health needs
- Update your medical records accurately and comprehensively
This approach ensures you receive safe, personalised care rather than a one-size-fits-all service. We’re committed to providing quality care, and that means taking the time to do things properly.
Appointments Billing & Fee Structure
The cost of your appointment will vary depending on the type of consultation and its length. Most services at Health on Henley are privately billed, meaning there is an out of pocket cost.
